Eating and Drinking
There are two village pubs in Darley Bridge and both serve food: The Three Stags Heads (see a sample menu) and the Square and Compass. Other walkable pubs are The Church Inn in Churchtown and Barringtons in Two Dales which has a restaurant.

A short drive to just the other side of Winster, is the Miners Standard - see website for pub meal menu. It has a large carpark.

If you like local craft ales, then you could consider visiting the Thornbridge Brewery and perhaps include the Thornbridge Experience or visit the Peak Ales brewery at Chatsworth.

There are various cafes in nearby Two Dales, for example the Whitworth Terrace Cafe, the Tall Trees Coffee Shop and Restaurant at the Forest Garden Centre and Joni's.

The Shalimar Indian restaurant is at the other end of Darley Dale, just over two miles away. It also has a takeaway. There is another Indian restaurant nearby, in Matlock: Maazi.
There is a Chinese takeaway in Matlock (Cantonese Wok) and a wide range of other eateries, restaurants (for example Stones) and bars.

For fish ‘n’ chips, there is the Darley Dale Fish Bar.

For fine dining, reserve a table at The Peacock in Rowsley or at Fischer's at Baslow Hall.

The nearest general food shops are the community-owned Winster village shop and the Coop in Darley Dale. The nearest major supermarkets are in Matlock (Sainsbury and M&S Foodhall). Chatsworth Farm Shop has a wide range of fresh produce.

There are also a number of local markets. We recommend Bakewell Market on Mondays. It has a wide variety of stalls and holds a farmers market too once a month and frequent livestock markets - check dates here.

Peak Village is a shopping outlet centre at nearby Rowsley. It has a large free car park and is walkable along the Derwent Valley Heritage Way at 3 miles. There is Denby Pottery outlet store there (though you may prefer to travel a little further afield to visit the Denby Factory for a pottery tour).
For Post Offices, please see: Two Dales PO and Winster PO.
The nearest fuel stations are BP (which also has a Spar) in Darley Dale and Sainsbury in Matlock. See: fuel map.
